Call for Short Courses

We welcome the submission of proposals for Short Courses at EuCAP 2017.  Short Courses are intended to provide a focused presentation of a scientific and/or application topic by one or very few high level experts, within the areas of research of the antennas and propagation community.

Short courses can be of two types:

  • advanced: for a specialized audience of researchers already having a good basic knowledge of the field ; a time slot may be reserved at the end of the course in to allow a deep discussion between the participants and the speakers
  • tutorial: for an audience that has no special pre-existing knowledge of the topic and is interested in grasping the essentials of the state of the art, challenges and perspectives. Such short courses may be of interest for engineers and for young or even experienced researchers

The proposals must be submitted using the template available at this link.  They can involve 1 or 2 proponents and have to be submitted before the deadline (September 16, 2016), via e-mail to all short courses chairs: Simon Cotton (), Anne-Claire Lepage ), and Fernando Perez Fontan (). The reception of proposals will be acknowledged. The acceptance is expected to be provided on Oct. 21, 2016. It will be based on multiple criteria, such as (non exhaustively) the coverage of EuCAP scientific areas, the relevance and topical character of the subject, the size of the expected audience.

Short Courses will be a half-day long (3 h course plus a break) and will be held on Friday afternoon, March 24, 2017. The proponents must be aware that an accepted short course will be cancelled if less than 5 participants have registered at the deadline. In this respect, speakers are encouraged to publicize the short course through their own networks and dissemination channels

Instructors of accepted and non cancelled short courses will have to provide the set of slides to the EuCAP 2017 local organizing committee in advance.

The registration cost to a short course will be 100 €. The total fee to the instructor(s) of a course with N registered participants will be a fixed amount of 250 € up to N=10 and 50 € x (N-5) when N>10.
