We welcome the submission of proposals for workshops at EuCAP 2017. There are two types of Workshops:
Scientific Workshops are intended for exchanges within a well identified scientific community, or for practical or academic training on a specific domain requiring a set of experts (beyond the coverage of a short course). Proponent(s) must elaborate the session content with clear differentiating factors as compared to regular/convened sessions.
Industrial Workshops have the objective to maximise industry involvement and exchanges with delegates from academia and research institutes.
Proposals have to be submitted before the deadline (September 16, 2016). They should be submitted via e-mail, to both Simon Cotton (simon.cotton@qub.ac.uk), Anne-Claire Lepage (anne-claire.lepage@telecom-paristech.fr) and Fernando Perez Fontan (fpfontan@tsc.uvigo.es) Their reception will be acknowledged. The acceptance is expected to be provided on Oct. 21, 2016.
The workshop information (call for papers, program/speakers...) will be provided on a dedicated page of the web site and will be updated accordingly. Furthermore, the committee can freely provide presentations/papers or other digital content to be included in the EuCAP 2017 USB key remitted to participants or freely downloadable from the web site, subject to size limits. Organisers must be aware that workshop papers will not go on IEEE-Xplore.
Scientific Workshops
Scientific Workshops will be organized by a specially nominated committee and will solicit presentations/papers/panels that will not undergo review by the EuCAP 2017 TPC and as a consequence will not be handled by EDAS (under EuCAP 2017). The Scientific Workshop Committee is responsible for invitation/dissemination/selection activities and sets its own procedures and deadlines.
Scientific Workshops can be organized by a project consortium (e.g. FP7, H2020, COST etc.), bearing in mind that the content should sufficiently fit within the technical areas of EuCAP.
The duration of a scientific workshop is expected to be a half day (two time-slots of 1h40 each), although full day workshops can be considered.
Please note that Scientific workshops will be normally scheduled on Friday afternoon. In case of Monday-Thursday scheduling request, a fee of 750 € + VAT per hour will be requested from organizers.
Scientific workshop proposals must be submitted using the template available at this link.
Industrial Workshops
Industrial Workshops will be organized by a company or a group of companies around presentations/papers/panels that will not undergo review by the EuCAP 2017 TPC and as a consequence will not be handled by EDAS (under EuCAP 2017). The proponents are fully responsible for ensuring the quality of the workshop contents.
The duration of an industrial workshop can range from 1 to 4 time-slots (each time-slot is expected to be 1h40, and 1 day has 4 time-slots), depending on the quality of the proposal, and on the interest and timeliness of topic. The content should fit the technical areas of EuCAP.
Industrial Workshops take place during the conference weekdays (mo afternoon-Fri morning), and will be announced in the program as open for all delegates. Please note that there is a cost of 1500 € + VAT per hour for organisers of such workshops.
